Role Description

Paynamics is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and building reliable systems. In this role, you will help ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient, supporting seamless payment services for our merchants.

This is a full-time hybrid role for a DevOps Engineer based in Makati, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure

• Manage and maintain AWS services such as EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, Route53, and Lambda
• Ensure system availability, performance, and security
• Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency
• Implement backups and maintain cloud resources

CI/CD & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform
• Develop automation scripts using Bash, Groovy, Python, or similar

System & Application Support

• Support deployment and integration of applications built with Java, NodeJS, or ReactJS
• Manage and deploy containerized applications using Docker
• Support container orchestration strategies for scalability

Incident & Performance Management

• Provide Level 3 support for production incidents
• Conduct root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution
• Monitor system performance and help maintain 95.99% uptime or higher

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with engineering and cross-functional teams
• Document configurations, processes, and incident resolutions
• Continuously improve system reliability and automation processes

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps
• Experience in fintech or financial systems is a plus

Experience with some of the following tools and technologies:

Cloud Platforms

• AWS (EC2, ECS/ECR, VPC, S3, Route53, Lambda)
• DigitalOcean, GCP, or Azure (plus)

Infrastructure as Code

• Terraform
• AWS CloudFormation

Containerization

• Docker
• Kubernetes / AWS Fargate

CI/CD & DevOps Tools

• GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines
• Sonarqube, GitLab SAST/DAST

Scripting & Automation

• Bash, Python, Groovy, AWS CLI

Monitoring & Observability

• Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB, AWS CloudWatch, Site24x7

Other Technical Skills

• Linux & Windows administration
• Git / GitLab / Bitbucket
• IAM and key management (AWS KMS, Secrets Manager)
• SSL/TLS certificate management
